1. Dapeng Bay Scenic District : The district is currently undergoing BOT project to promote local investments. The district has been open partially since 2004, and will fully open in 2007. 2. Liouciou Scenic District : There are many scenic spots in this district worth visiting.

What is the status of removing illegal aquaculture and farming buildings?

1. Official announcement of the prohibition of cultivation on May 11th, 1999 2. May 17th, 1999, passed the agreement of releasing fund for the aquaculture and relevant production facilities in Dapeng Bay Area. 3. Starting the evaluation work of aquaculture facilities from Jan. 19 ~ 25, 2000. 4. On December 29th, 2000, announce the releasing of relief fund for facilities. Releasing period started from December 30th, 2000 to May 30, 2001. 5. The removing of Oyster aquaculture facilities has started on August 1st, 2001 and expected to complete 70% of the relief fund before October.

A: What is “Cage Aquaculture”?
A:
It is a farming method that is seen largely in the northern-east of the Liouciou island. Putting round/or square shaped float, connecting it with nets that deep down several meters into the sea. It is used to cultivate species of highly economic values.

Why names the Vase-like Rock?
A:
Vase-like rock, a 9 feet tall Coral Limestone, locates in the north of Ben-Fu village, about 300 meters to the right of the harbor. Washing out by the sea, the rock was shaped and looked like a vase.

It is said that a Chinese beauty was separated from her father during a shipwreck, and was thrust to the shore. She survived and lived in the cave to the end.

In the Ming Dynasty, when Koxinga retreated the Hollanders, some black slaves were left in the area. They lived in the cave and were later killed in a fight with the British troop.
